a score in excess of 50%. Any player may play in a club heat, but to play
in the semi-final they must be EBU members, have given the LCBA as their
county of primary allegiance, and have not played in either the heats
of the Tollemache, Corwen or Pachabo for another county during the current
year. If a player plays in more than one club heat the first one will
count unless they have notified otherwise before start of play.
Pairs will qualify to play in the final which will be an "all play
all" playing at least two boards against each other pair.
The Management Committee will determine the number of pairs playing in
the final according to the number in the semi-final. It will usually be
14 pairs. The first two or three pairs (depending upon EBU regulations
current at the time) will represent the LCBA in the Corwen Trophy. In
the event of a pair not being able to go, reserves will be invited down
to and including a 50% score.

would try and partner a player of like ability.

allegiance, as indicated when joining or renewing his/her annual subscription.
If he is not required by that club, then he may play for any other club
of which he is a bona fide member (i.e. for more than three months). The
winners will represent their club and the LCBA in the regional finals.
OPEN
TRIALS
This
is an event to help determine which pairs will be invited to compete in
the Closed Trials later in the year. In turn, the Closed Trials will help
the County Captain's Committee to determine who will be invited to represent
the County in the Tollemache. Pre-entry is not required, so pairs just
need to turn up on the day. If a Howell is played then the pair finishing
1st will automatically be invited to the Closed Trial and if a Mitchell,
then both 1st N/S and E/W will be invited. Depending upon numbers playing
others may also be invited. Scoring will be by Butler method.
