Gardens Cities Heat 7th March 2010 at Dunholme

Holders 2008/09 - Scunthorpe
This is a competition for teams-of-eight from Affiliated Clubs. A club may enter more than one team. A player must only play for his club of allegiance, as indicated when joining or renewing his/her annual subscription. If he is not required by that club, then he may play for any other club of which he is a bona fide member (i.e. for more than three months). The winners will represent their club and the LCBA in the regional finals on 15th May at either Bradford or Peterborough.

Margaret Balch
It was with deep regret that our Chairman, Alan Andrews, gave the news at the Vincent Competition that one of our honorary members,Margaret Balch, had recently died. At 92 years of age Mrs Balch was one of our oldest members, having played in county events for many years. In fact the Veteran's Trophy, which is the next County event, was generously donated by her. Mr Andrews said that she would be sorely missed in the local bridge area. A minute's silence was observed.

Return of Trophies
So that the trophies may be engraved in time for the AGM, would those members who were fortunate enough to win one last season please arrange to have them returned, either directly or via Club Reps, by May 9th (Annual Championships)
